When can I check in or check out?
Check in is at 5 p.m. Eastern time and check out is 11 a.m. Eastern time.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring extra paper supplies, items for the beach, beach towel, any toys or movies for the kids and if you are a big cook and require a food processor or something special for the kitchen please bring those items. I think you will find everything else is provided. You can always call and ask if you are unsure of an item.
Is there a grill?
All our homes renting over $2000 a week are required to have a gas grill and all other homes have to at least have a charcoal grill.
How do I pay?
We require 1/2 down at the time of the reservation and the other half 30 days prior to arrival. We also require a security deposit which can be held by a c/c or you can send a check. We accept Visa/MasterCard or Discover for your convenience. If you have to put 1/2 payment on your c/c we will just charge the other half to your c/c when payment is due.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you have made a reservation and have put a down payment it is non-refundable unless we can re-rent the week or weeks reserved. If we can re-rent the home there will be a refund in full. If we can not re-rent the home you will be charged the full amount and we will send back your cleaning fee.
When do I get my security deposit back?
On c/c`s we just hold it for the amount and release it after the home has been checked by our staff and we find everything in order. 99.9 percent of the time there is no problems. If you send a check we will get it out right after we check the home also. We do have 30 days to return deposits in case there is any dispute.
Where are you located?
Our office is located in the heart of New Buffalo at 317 N Whittaker in the downstairs of the Lake Living Office. You can go to www.mapquest.com if you need precise directions.
What is the train schedule?
Please go to www.amtrak.com for schedule information. We do have the new line in New Buffalo up and running with more stops being made from here to downtown Chicago and vice/versa. We also have the South Shore Line that picks up in Michigan City. you can go to www.nictd.com for schedules.
What does in-season and off-season mean?
In season runs from May to October and off-season is from October to May. We have great off-season rates and summer is not the only beautiful time in Harbor Country. All the seasons are special here.
Do you allow pets?
Some of our homes are pet friendly. Please check in the description of our homes and it will tell you what ones will consider pets.
Do you allow smoking?
We have no homes that allow smoking. You can step outside but please remember to pick up and dispose of any liter caused from smoking.
Phones?
Please use your cell phones for long distance calls.
Do you have cribs and other items for babies?
Yes we do. Please fill out the form included with your rental and we make sure the items are set up and at your rental when you arrive. Please let us know if there are any items you`d like to see added to our list. We do not provide linens or bumpers for these services you must bring your own.
What is near-by as far as shopping, etc?
There is plenty near by. We do provide a large book located at the home to provide directions and phone numbers to all the fun located in the area. if you have questions before you arrive, please call us we`ll be happy to help.
Is there a place to launch out boat or Jet Ski?
Please call the New Buffalo River Marina at 269-469-1522 for details. Please do not launch or store boats, jet skis on rental properties.
Where can we rent bikes?
You can phone Outpost Sports at 269-469-4210. They have many different rentals including kayaks.
What do I do in an Emergency?
Please check your rental home when you arrive. There should be a list of emergency numbers on the fridge. if there is not please contact our office as soon as possible. If you have any questions you can always phone us.
